Midsummer weekend

I and the kids just finished eating a liter of strawberries from our yard.

We have had a great midsummer weekend in Långasand, just north of Halmstad, at my aunt Karin and Lars-Göran’s place. Thursday night we drove down to Anders and Tina. That opened up some time to do some shopping Friday morning. Tina and I went down to her boutique, Bella Donna. I have my own personal shopper. Not that I needed any new clothes, but it is fun and I always find some that I like.

It was windy and cold on Midsummer Eve but the house is so cozy and the view so great so we did not really mind eating indoors. Later in the evening we tried the outdoor tub. They have the tub up on the hill next to the gazebo. Look at the view in the photos.

Saturday we did take a walk on the beach and the kids ran around on the rocks. Yesterday, the sun and warm weather finally came and Mark and the kids took a quick dip in the sea before we headed home. It was cold.

This week Jesper has football camp and Malin is at Fritids (after school activities at school).

Two birthday parties and two soccer games; that was yesterday’s agenda. Just to be clear Malin had the parties and Jesper had the soccer games. Mark and I took turns taking them where they had to be. The projects at home are not moving along quickly.
I have many “events” to write about but I will start with the major events of this week and then if time allows I will backtrack further.

Thursday, school ended. All the classes gathered on the schoolyard and sang different summer songs. It brought back memories. Then we went into the classrooms and all the students did some individual performance. Malin sang “row row row your boat” and Jesper read a text about the cathedral. Malin was very proud of her dress. We were very proud parents. Malins’ teacher had counted the days, the kids have 66 days off before school starts again.

Thursday night, Ingrid, Karin, Johanna and Emrik came by. They had been to Kolmården and stayed with us on their way home. It was fun. We stop by their place all the time when we are in Alfta so it was great to have them at our place. Jesper and Emerik picked the first wild strawberries in our yard. Yesterday, I picked the first strawberries. These strawberries are shoots from our plants in Njurunda (Sundsvall). Yummie.

Summertime

We have finally thawed out after the winter; I will make an attempt to blog more frequently. Today was the first day at the pool. It has been summer weather for awhile but today we finally went swimming. We went down to the local pool. Unfortunately I forgot the camera at home!!, which is not like me, but the "beachbag" was not packed so we did not get it right the first time. The waterslide at the pool is great; we all have fun going down the slide over and over again. Hopefully this was just the first of many days at the pool.
